Life BEEadapt’s first BEEhappy workshop

Yesterday at the Eremo della Pietra di Bismantova, in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines National Park, Life BEEadapt partners organized the first of the BEEhappy workshops—a time for meeting, sharing, and reflection with local stakeholders.

Approximately 30 people attended, primarily representatives of farms that in recent months signed the Pact for Pollinators’ Adaptation to Climate Change.

The workshop presentations—on climate change and its impact on pollinators (Marina Baldi, CNR-IBE), governance initiatives proposed by Life BEEadapt (Stefano Magaudda, Roma Tre University), and best practices adopted by farms in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines Biosphere Reserve (Giovanni Carotti and Margherita Coviello, Tuscan-Emilian Apennines National Park)—gained great interest from the audience, who frequently asked questions and requested further information. The latest presentation, “Biodiversity Credits as a Tool for the Economic Valorization of the Pollination Ecosystem Service” (Willy Reggioni, project coordinator for the PNATE), opened up several future possibilities for collaboration between local farms and projects like LIFE BEEadapt, which together can build more sustainable agriculture.
