With less than two months to go until the end of our project, it’s time to start reporting some results. To share what we’ve achieved in the five areas involved, we’ve created this video, which summarizes everything we’ve accomplished:
We also asked ourselves what benefits we had brought, beyond the ecological ones. We conducted socioeconomic monitoring by interviewing various representatives of the interest groups, those who signed Stewardship Agreements and Pollinator Pacts, such as farmers, representatives of cooperatives and local institutions, and so on.
For many of the stakeholders—farmers, local entrepreneurs, associations, and local governments—LIFE BEEadapt represented the beginning of a cultural shift toward greater attention to the role of pollinators in the well-being of ecosystems. Numerous farmers reported having permanently modified their agricultural practices, adopting more environmentally friendly mowing methods, new planting techniques, installing bee hotels, and other sustainable strategies to foster pollinator resilience.
Biodiversity was identified by interviewees as the most obvious and appreciated benefit, perceived as a concrete value for the project’s local area.
This, along with the tangible ecological results, is the main objective achieved by the project, which intrinsically aims, through the establishment of multilevel governance, to create something that can then endure and proliferate even beyond its lifespan.
